This portrait is believed to be of Christopher Marlowe.
It was discovered at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge,
and required extensive restoration work. While it has never been
completely proved to be him, dates and wording on the portrait
correlate to Christopher Marlowe's life and motto
(which is in the original Latin Quod me nutrit, me destruit
which translates to "What nourishes me, destroys
me). He would have been a student of 21, attending Corpus
Christi College at the time the portrait was done.
This is a cropped version of the original portrait,
made available here on a wide rangeof t-shirts,
greeting cards, posters, prints, mugs
and gifts.
